Tatsulok (TAT-soo-LOK), which comes from the Tagalog word for triangle, is a trio composed of soprano Katrina Saporsantos, pianist Benjamin Dia, and trumpeter Kenken Gorder. The trio will be making its Here Be Monsters Music Festival debut as a composer-performer group with their collaborative composition called “Three Sides to Show”. For each movement, a member will write a leading line for their respective instrument while the other two write supporting material to complement the individual’s composition. Between each movement will be improvisatory elements that are loosely based on components from each “side”, creating a seamless transition from one section to the next.
